| Circus Circus' castle-themed resort on the Las Vegas Strip is officially named "Excalibur," the winning entry in a $25,000 "Name the Castle" contest. The winner is Jack D. | Steeplechase Pier, one of the last remaining amusement piers in Atlantic City, is destroyed by fire. Owned by Resorts International, the pier was used as a heliport for Trump Air helicopters.
